Newsflash

Four years ago, Ming Chuan University established the first, and up to now the only, four-year, teaching-in-English International College in Taiwan to promote international education and educate the elite with international vision and professional competitiveness.  The International College has seven options in majors: International Business, Information Communication, Information Management, Tourism, Electronic Engineering, Digital Media Design, and Teaching Chinese as a Second Language.

In addition to teaching-in-English undergraduate courses, the International College of Ming Chuan University has MA programs for International Affairs, Management, and Applied English. Now there are 254 international students from 37 countries studying graduate and undergraduate courses at Ming Chuan University, which ranks first amongst private universities for most foreign students in Taiwan and 3rd amongst all schools.

To encourage more foreign students to study in Taiwan, Ming Chuan University offers preferential tuition by waiving 50% in the first year to foreign students who study in the International College.  If students earn high scores in the previous year, they qualify to apply for various scholarships and preferential tuition of different percentages for the following years.  The University has an Office of Consultant for International Students which provides consulting services on studies and livelihood.

National Taiwan University welcoming enrollments from international students for its International C
The International Chinese Language Program (ICLP) at National Taiwan University is widely held to be the premier language institution for the instruction of both modern and classical Chinese in Taiwan.

Founded in 1963 as the inter-University Program for Chinese Language Studies (IUP), it provides a year-long language program in a Mandarin speaking area which upholds much of its traditional Chinese heritage and culture within the framework of a modern democratic society.

ICLP programs enable students to become conversant in modern spoken Chinese and to develop reading skills needed for academic research or other professional use.  Academic Year Program stretches from mid September to early June (3 quarters) and Summer Program from mid June to mid August (8 weeks).

Application form and more information about the ICLP are available at http://iclp.ntu.edu.tw .  If you have any questions about the Program, please call 011- 886-2-2363-9132, or by fax at 011-886-2-2362-6926, or email

If you need an ICLP pamphlet, please contact Henry Fan at 816.531.1298 ext. 107 or email:
